The Cottage
Lounge & Dining Room
The open-plan living area invites the outside in, with ample sunlight and beautiful garden views. Two large couches promise comfortable viewing of cinematic sunsets – through the windows or on the flatscreen television. A dining table and four chairs complete the furnishings. Through the sliding glass door, the room extends onto a private deck where birdsong is your constant companion.
Kitchen
The scenery from the kitchen makes cooking a pleasure, as does the lovely workspace, together with the sharp cooking utensils. The kitchen is easy to navigate and equipped with a four-plate stove and oven, an induction plate, fridge, microwave and kettle. The kitchen cupboards offer enough storage space, and catering will prove to be a breeze.
Main Bedroom & En-Suite Bathroom
The main bedroom with its king-size bed is warm and welcoming. Open the curtain to enjoy an unsurpassed sunrise, then open the window to fill your lungs with fresh mountain air. The bedroom has spacious built-in wardrobes and the recently updated en-suite bathroom boasts stylish and modern amenities, like a walk-in shower, basin, cabinet and toilet.
2nd Bedroom & Bathroom
This lovely room is airy and light. Take a peek out of the window to fully appreciate the significant size and age of the trees rooted on the property. Luxury twin beds can accommodate two adults, and the room has built-in wardrobes.
The second bathroom is opposite the bedroom. Relax in the tub and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
Deck/Patio
The deck is an outside extension of the living area and serves as a private patio. No better spot to immerse yourself simultaneously in the tranquillity of the surroundings and the adventure of a good book.
Treat yourself to brunch with freshly baked breads, croissants and biscuits from Valley Bakery. A handcrafted cheese platter from the Berg Air Lifestyle Centre (hiking distance down the hill) will perfectly complement your bakery loot. The same lifestyle centre is home to Drakensberg Brewery, where you will find the best local craft beer to accompany you on a lazy afternoon.
Garden and Mountain Meadows
We highly recommend a hike through the mountain meadows on the extensive grounds. Three kilometres of marked trails on the property ensure splendid mountain vistas. The varying seasons offer different indigenous flowers – the fields always hold a surprise or two. You might encounter wild deer, ground hornbills, some monkeys or an owl. Benches dot the marked paths. Take a breather and let nature work its magic.
